Today we had a potluck for my English Conversation group being that it's the last time we'll meet until the fall. The food was fabulous as you can imagine. We had an assortment of sweet & savory dishes from all over Europe. These ladies are incredible. I just love them. I have so much fun with them. Our conversation topics are always interesting. Sometimes the funniest conversations are when we're talking about slang words or statements that you wouldn't learn from an English course. Just last week we talked about the statement, "I'm going to fire his ass." And then there was the time one of our members was confused about why a man in a movie called another man "His Bitch." This year two of our members from Germany are leaving. They will be greatly missed!
In about two weeks my sister will be getting married. I can't believe the day is almost here. A year in a half of preparations. Being that I'm the maid of honor I've started to prepare my speech. I've been brainstorming for weeks now and today I finally put my ideas on paper. While driving I've come up with some brilliant ideas but once it comes to writing my thoughts on paper all my ideas fly right out the window! lol! But now I have a rough draft. Tonight I read it to S & my Mom and they both liked it. I still have some revisions to make but the main thoughts are there. I'm trying to make the speech a little funny so I won't start sobbing but I still want it to be touching and express the love & happiness I feel for my sister and my new brother in law.
