That's me & my Dad at the Zoo. When I look at this photo I can't help think how young he looks.. like a baby! I think he was 25 yrs old in this photo. Even though I wasn't planned, I know my parents loved me. I'm sure it wasn't an easy time with my father coming back from the Vietnam War. I can't imagine how he felt coming home and trying to reconnect with this baby after he had missed so much of my first year. But it didn't matter to me. Luckily, we had time to create memories that will always remind me of what a wonderful person he is and the sacrifices he made for his family. His generosity, compassion, love, and talent amaze me. I'm so proud to call him my Dad.
Happy Father's Day Dad!! I love you!!
This Father's Day was a quiet one. We spent the day running a few errands and hanging out at the pool. Last week Lil' C & I made Steve a personalized stepping stone for Father's Day. Lil' C did a great job decorating the stone. Super fun project. Amazing how easy it was to make. I loved how it turned out. We had such a great time making the stepping stone that I went out and bought a few more packages of cement mixes along with decorative marbles & stained glass pieces so we could make more stepping stones while we're in Belgium. Great way to capture Lil' C's little foot & hand prints.
Lil' C was so excited to give his Daddy his gift & handmade card. Steve already knew about the gift since Lil' C told him what his surprise was a few days ago & showed him the card as it was drying. Three year olds can not keep secrets! LOL!!
Wow, your post was a delight to read, the pic with your dad is awesome, i'm sure it bought back lots of memories. Thanks for sharing
