All the women in my family love shoes and yes even my Dad loves to buy shoes. My Dad actually owns more shoes than my Mom. We think he may actually have a shoe fetish. Of course he denies it. LOL!!
I like to think of my shoes as little jewels with amazing powers to transform me into another person.
For example, I adore my strappy stilettos... you know the ones.. the kind that are so beautiful you just can't resist buying them. These gems can make you feel like a supermodel. Sadly, these same shoes can be little torture chambers. Love my sandals & flip flops too. These little babies can turn me into a wanna be surfer chick in the blink of an eye. Of course I also love my athletic shoes. You know the ones.. they're not really meant for running but make you look like a hip Mommy on the playground.
When I lived in NYC it was my Dad who took me shoe shopping. It was our special time together. Since I went to a Catholic school we were only allowed to purchase shoes from Buster Brown. Which meant I was severely restricted in my selection. Now my play shoes were a whole different ballgame. My Dad let me choose absolutely whatever I wanted. For a young 8 year old this is a big deal especially when you live in NYC & always want to be in style. I loved that my Dad never seem to care how much the sneakers cost. He just wanted me to be happy.
Many shoes were purchased throughout the years my Dad took me shopping. Yet the shoes I remember most were my Pro-Keds and Converse sneakers. I adored & treasured these shoes.
Interestly, I still own a pair of Converse. These chocolate brown suede jewels have an urban retro feel to them. I love that they make me feel young & fashionable. But mostly, I love them because they make me think of my Dad and our special shoe shopping trips together. Thanks Dad, I love you!
So sweet a memory. Sounds like a very cool Dad!

I used to wear Converse sneakers all the time, but now I need more arch support.

Ty,
You should see the gold shoes I just bought from Aldo to match my brown dress. They're beautiful but after twenty minutes they're tools of torture. Must us women endure such pain to look good? I guess that's what bandaids are for LOL
